Visit to St. David's in Bean Blossom
Ben Sworh and his family were welcomed at St. David’s-Bean Blossom July 18 as the congregation wanted to meet the family they helped bring to the United States last year.
Ben and Kormosa, Yassah and Ben Jr. spoke with gratitude about their lives in the United States, their times at St. Timothy’s, and gave hearty thanks to the people of St. David’s, who used tithe money from their building campaign to assist St. Timothy’s and many other parishes in bringing the family to the United States.
Sheryl Otter talked about the meaning of having come to known Kormosa and the newest Sworh, Samuel, who was born this Spring. She said that the effort to help the family and to know them brings a lot of joy. Michael Ewing spoke about his thankfulness at getting to know the Sworhs, especially Ben, for whom he provided transportation to and from St. Timothy’s many times after he first arrived.
Steve Polston spoke about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how the Sworhs were a gift to the congregation at St. Timothy’s.
The St. David’s congregation was about 65 people Sunday and many joyfully celebrated “Mary and Martha Sunday” with special music. Then congregation provided a huge luncheon for the Sworhs and about 40 people came to a presentation after lunch to hear from the Sworhs.
