Godly Play classes are on summer
and will resume on September 9, 2018
and the Rector's Godly Play sermons continue
on First Sunday of the month: July 1, August 5, and September 2.
Godly Play in Action
St. Timothy’s uses a Montessori-style program
for children’s Sunday morning education. The classroom is a calm,
welcoming place, where children are surrounded by visible and
tactile representations of key stories of our faith. As intended by
Dr. Jerome Berryman who wrote the curriculum, walking into the
classroom is like “walking into the Bible.” Children are welcome in
the classroom or in church for the worship service, and all children
are in church for communion. On the first Sunday of each month the
children are in church for a Children’s sermon presented by Rector
Rebecca Ferrell Nickel. Our Godly Play Director is Alli Betts,
doctoral candidate at the University of Indianapolis, and our
teachers are specifically trained for this style of education.
You are welcome to bring your child, or to stay
and observe or participate in the program.
